After purchasing a new vehicle, all vehicles must be inspected for the first time 4 years after purchase, and every 2 years thereafter. This is to contribute to the prevention of traffic accidents by determining whether the safety of a vehicle in operation is appropriate, and to prevent environmental pollution by identifying a vehicle that produces excessive noise and exhaust gas.
For regular vehicle inspections, you must be inspected within 31 days before and after the expiration date to avoid any fines.

Difference between regular inspection and comprehensive inspection
Periodic inspection
Inspection conducted regularly every certain period after new registration, regular inspection of exhaust gas from running vehicles in accordance with Article 62 of the Air Quality Conservation Act, and periodic inspection of running vehicles in accordance with Article 37 of the Noise and Vibration Control Act The general inspections we receive are regular Inspection. Comprehensive inspection
Comprehensive inspections are conducted on all vehicles over a certain age registered in the area subject to comprehensive inspections at regular intervals (Air Environment Conservation Act, Special Act on Air Quality Improvement in Air Quality Management Areas, City/Provincial Ordinances)

Periodic inspection cycle
Periodic inspections must be performed every period specified in the following after the vehicle is newly registered.
Classification Validation Period
2 years for non-commercial passenger vehicles and towed vehicles (initial inspection is valid for 4 years)
1 year for commercial passenger vehicles (initial inspection is valid for 2 years)
Light/small vans and lorries 1 year
Large lorry for commercial use 2 years or less 1 year
Over 2 years old and 6 months old
Mid-size vans and large vans for business 8 years or less 1 year
Over 8 years old and 6 months old
Other vehicles 5 years or less 1 year
More than 5 years and 6 months of age
Non-commercial passenger vehicles must undergo a regular inspection every two years after the first four years of inspection after the new car is shipped. In the case of a van, regardless of use, it is required to undergo regular inspections every 5 years after shipment, every 1 year, and every 6 months after 5 years.
